3–5 Minute Progress Presentation
Brief Project Update — Thursday Workshop, Next Week
NoteWhat this is
Next week during workshop time, each student will give a 3–5 minute informal progress update on their project. This is not a formal presentation, more of a check-in to share what you’ve done, where you are, and get feedback from your peers.
Why?
These short updates serve three goals:
- Accountability: sharing your progress publicly helps you commit to your own timeline.
- Feedback: your peers can ask questions you haven’t thought of yet.
- Practice: articulating your methods and results out loud is a core research skill.
Duration and Format
| Element | Time |
|---|---|
| Your update | 3–5 minutes |
| Peer questions | 1–2 minutes |
| Transition | < 1 minute |
Total per student: approximately 5–7 minutes Hopefully there’s time for all of you
